from Shock in Australia apparently, no more details at hand.
Interesting. I've been wanting to upgrade this one for some time now. Hopefully it's worth the wait it's been to get this on blu. I wonder where the master they're using is from?
I can't believe it has taken this long to get a blu, hopefully somebody does it up right
Wonder if it's region locked or includes the alternate ending ?
The alt ending would be so cool. I think it's considered lost last I remember hearing, but that hasn't stopped "lost" footage/scenes from showing up over the years, so who knows.
How is Australia (or Germany, for that matter) able to get Paramount films released on Blu-ray? Are those releases "unofficial" (I'll stop short of calling them bootlegs)? I have a few of those imports and the PQ is just OK on average. If they're legit labels I wish they would make more of an effort to remaster the films before slapping them on BDs.
Yeah, if they are gonna give out licenses, why not go with a better and more trusted company.
They're legit but you're right that the PQ usually isn't amazing. I think they're gotten better in recent years with picture transfers here.
They will use whats given to them, they won't pay for a new transfer and Paramount won't do a new transfer, if you've seen a HD print on a channel in recent years, then I'd imagine thsts the one they will use, otherwise it will be the dated master used for the dvd..
There won't be substantial extra's, if you get trailer, be happy, the deleted stuff definitely won't feature.
Shock have moved the release date back a week to Sept 6th
I'm going to guess that being fairly close to release that this is likely to be barebones. They don't even have cover art yet and it's roughly a month away.
Considering Shout Factory apparently has a Paramount deal, I would definitely hold off on this.
I heard that, I am waiting for Shout Factory to come through with this one!
Good point. Plus I only found out today this Shock company is the one that releases those ugly Cinema Cult packages with all the grey.
I'll definitely hold off and see if Shout announces anything.
I want the best quality edition of April Fool's Day but I don't think I can wait until next April for the Shout release (if any). It's silly to tie it into some stupid day that isn't even a holiday. Will put in a preorder at Diabolik for the Aussie BD.
Cinema Cults facebook confirmed its coming out but still no details, i imagine it will be barebones like almost all their releases.. on the other hand they are dirt cheap to buy so ill get it
Really looking forward to this, barebones and all. Will Amazon carry it?
Unlikely but you’ll 100% be able to get it from
