I've never personally seen the cut.....
But I like the film as it stands....
Does anyone know if it still possible to find the uncut Canadian Lionsgate DVD?
i got mine on ebay try there
Assuming the third party sellers categorized their edition correctly.
On a side note, while the DVD is full frame, it's actually open matte, not pan & scan. However, the actual V/A quality is better on the Columbia disc. Now when are we going to get this classic on blu ray with commentary by the two leads?
I just picked up the uncut version at Zellers (Canadian department store) the other day for $2.99. I figured for the sake of completing the TCM section on my shelf and having the uncut version, it was worth three bucks.
Keep in mind I haven't seen it before.
Does this look like a Lionsgate DVD?
The Columbia "lipstick" cover looks a bit different, right? -
I'm so bummed because my Columbia version claims to run 94 minutes (according to the back cover and the actual disc itself) but is, in fact, the 87 minute version. :fire:
When you compare the spines they are noticably different. I just found the CA version and grabbed it to complete the collection. It certainly is the worst of all the TCMs so in a weird way its funny I get teh "longer" version of a bad movie. I agree the towtruck scene played longer and McConaughey plays it with such glee. I wish they actually showed something. I really need to watch the US version again to compare but I just could not put myself through another viewing so soon.
After some searching I found it on ebay.
Please tell me I didn't just watch that? Can someone confirm I got this correct please.....
'The family' aka Mr. Matthew Mcconaughey and leatherface are doing the killing, due to actually being controlled by some government agency that control them via a chip and remote control to kill?
I got my uncut copy in a Wallgreens of all places about seven years ago.
I live in Minnesota so local shops (not best buy) get Canadian merchandise. I got the good version of "Gingersnaps" at a local cd store as well.
I love the shit out of TCM-IV. Its dirty, weird and hilarious.
Yes you did and it is awesome.
haha what a weird entry into the series. I dig TCM but the whole remote control chip etc was abit much for me! I prefer just the crazy family in the back woods motive to be honest!
Saying that, it didn't run along the same old train track, so I will give it extra for originality and WTF where did that come from moments
TCM: TNG sucks.
I happen to own the uncut version as well. It doesn't make the film any better. Some extra scenes here, some new dialogue etc. Nothing special.
It's all so Cabin in the Woods now.
I might be putting the dvd of the uncut version up on Ebay to sell. Anyone interested in buying it if I do?
I have the uncut Canadian version of this up for sale on Ebay if anyone is interested.
Which one is supposed to be the uncut one?
I have the one with the actor's faces on the cover and there is no scene with Jenny's stepfather on it. Also, I'm thinking - if it's the cut down version - that might be for the best because quick editing I think saves this movie.
I really enjoyed the movie, overall. It's much better than the film before it. Leatherface is just plain boring. Next Generation might be nonsensical as hell but at least it holds your attention. After the original, the quirkier the sequel- the better it is.
random but I've only seen the japanese laserdisc which I thought to be uncut? Is there a longer version than that?
The one with the chainsaw lipstick is supposedly the uncut version.
