Hey Everyone, Are any Horror Fans here going to the New England Rock N' Shock Horror Convention this Weekend? The Convention is in Worcester MA and I am looking forward to it!! I am going to be there on Saturday all day. I thought it would be cool to see if there were any other New England Horror Fans on here who might be going to it too!! It would be cool to meet some Horror Fans who are close by or maybe just stop by to say 'Hey' at The Show. They have a Great Guest List this year with Robert Englund, Lance Henriksen, Ace Frehley, Kane Hodder, Camille Keaton, Gary Busey and Much More!! Here is the Link: http://www.rockandshock.com/

For those of you who are going, is there anyone that you are really excited to meet?

I considered going, but decided against it. I just went on the web site and was startled by the number of guests that cancelled.

Yeah, I was looking forward to meeting Tim Thomerson and having him sign my Trancers II Poster but there is always next time. I have met Heather Langenkamp before and she was a Sweetheart so it would have been nice to meet her again but that's okay. I'm not a Boondock Saints fan so those not showing up is not a big deal to me.

On the plus side, there are still a bunch of Guests that I would like to meet!! I would love to meet Kane Hodder and have him sign a Jason Magazine or Picture for me!! Plus, the Big Dealer Room is reason anough for me to go!! A Horror Covention in MA really only comes once a year!!

I hear you. The dealer room was the biggest reason I wanted to go, but cash isn't flowing as well as I'd like right now. I went to the horror convention in NJ this past June mainly for the cast of Dawn of the Dead. We'll see if there's another convention in the coming months around the Northeast.

We usually get free passes every year, but not this time so I'm boycotting it out of spite. Well, not really since I had already decided not to go due to lack of funds and guests I'm interested in... but I'm going to say it's out of spite. ;)

Truth be told, there is never enough happening at Rock n Shock. If they had Q&As scheduled every hour on the hour like Monstermania does that would be one thing, but I really don't have any interest in paying for the "privilege" to pay even MORE money for autographs of stars who may or may not be friendly and paying list price for merch that I can easily get for half price online. Thanks, but no thanks.

Yeah, I actually won tickets to the Show the very first time that I went! That is awesome when you can get in for free! This year the Panels look really Good! I am looking forward to the Nightmare Q&A and The Men Behind The Masks one as well!! Last year I got some Great Deals in the Dealer Room, the Shriek Show table was Cool!! They were selling a bunch of OOP DVDS for $5 Each!! It really depends on the Vendors at these Shows, you never know what you might find!!

I know what you mean about the cash flow to go. For me, Monster Mania never came back to CT this year so I saved for this Show. There is The Boston Super MegaFest in Nov in Framingham MA as well. It's a mix of everything! They have some Good Guest's so far! If I have the extra cash, I might go to that too!! I went last year, mainly to meet Linda Blair, and it was a Fun Time!!

Went this morning and wasted half the day waiting for people to show up. Was really looking forward to getting a picture from Jonathan Silverman. I love Brighton Beach Memoirs and was hoping to get him to sign a picture from it but it turned out he was only there to promote Inkubus. They were handing out free posters and he was signing for free but this wasn't a poster I ever would have hung up. Ever. So I skipped him. Was wishing his wife was there!

Met Miko Hughes, Camille Keaton and Bub. They were all great. Talked to Bub about working with De Palma so that was cool. Camille brought up porn so that was a little awkward but she was extremely sweet. And Miko looks almost exactly the same. I wanted to take him home with me and bury him in the woods behind my house to see what would happen. But I didn't.

But that was it. Those were the only 3 I talked to. I couldn't believe the crowd or the lines in there. I've gone nearly every year since I think 2005 and this is the first time I've seen it so crowded. Not sure why Kane Hodder is suddenly so popular but he had a line across the room and usually he's just sitting there waiting for people to approach him. Poor Roddy Piper was very late due to a neck or spine injury? Not sure which but he showed up wearing a neck brace and looking very old. Kind of made me sad to see him like that. My friend and his wife waited in line to meet him and said he seemed very upbeat so he must be OK. Didn't bother with Robert Englund because by the time we would have been able to get in line for him it would have been 5:00 - they told us this a little after noon.

A bit of a disappointment but I'm glad I got to meet the three I did.

I used to attend Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in Los Angeles and go to the San Diego Comic Con every year. It was great meeting actors and getting autographs and pictures. As time progressed the lines got longer and people started wanting to get paid for their autographs. That's about the time I stopped going to conventions. Fighting the crowds and the commercialism was more than I cared to deal with. As Maybrick mentioned too most of the items the vendors are selling can be found cheaper online.
