I could be wrong but I think the problem is just greed. If you have someone else do your job you have to cut them in.
Yea I can see that. I'm assuming the same goes for them sending them to sites like Amazon but I'm not 100% how that works.
Things I've learned from Code Red Fanboys: his business model does not suck at all. If you are not able to order from his site the problem is with you, not Code Red. So stop your whining, blaming and pointing fingers or just stop ordering Code Red titles altogether because you obviously don't like them anyway P.S. Never ever mention "one arm" on any circumstance, or you'll burn in hell for eternity.
Well no, the problem is with Code Red not shipping anywhere but the US which means I can't buy from him. He doesn't have to do that. The guy goes out of his way to act like an idiot so I'll say whatever I want about him. What does "one arm" even mean? Has he lost his?
He's still in business. So it must not suck from his perspective. If he can only keep items in stock for an hour before he has to shut the door he must have plenty of customers to spare as well.
I believe he has arthritis (?) and can only pack orders with one arm, or so he said. Personally I think that is amazing
Bill's business model reminds me of an episode of South Park where Cartman bought a struggling amusement park, only to let as few as possible paying customers in. This "you can't get in" policy created more and more interest from the public than ever before. Having to let more and more customers in the park to pay for the cost just pissed Cartman off. Bill is Cartman.
It's more accurate to think of Bill as the Soup Nazi. He doesn't suffer fools and his product is so rare that he can get away with turning down customers. In fact, the eccentric behavior might exactly help drive sales. I would assume that one of the biggest problems small labels face is that genre fans will sit on their wallets for months and years even when their favorite titles get released. This practice kills the companies that genre fans rely on. Many of you bitch about Bill's business practices but the way he generates a fear of scaricity with his titles if freaking genius. Publicly pantsing cheats and whiners only and adds to his mystique.
I have to give the guy credit. Any time I've ever ordered anything it arrives in just a few days. Maybe that's because we're both on the West Coast but for a one-man shop filling orders I'm impressed. And a few months back I had to contact him about a wrong title he sent. I got the correct disc within a few days and a prepaid envelope to return the wrong one. Bill is quirky but I've always had positive experiences. (I probably just jinxed myself!)
  I can see that comparison. If it plays out like the episode we'll all be able to buy from him soon enough lol. I do wonder if it's a business tactic. Probably an unintentional one seeing as he whines like a 12 year old girl on FB.
I wonder why Scorpion never replies to this thread? Pretty sure he could tell us some very funny stories about Bill.
I think he just wants to stay out of it. I think he has made comments from time to time about him though.
And it's sold out already. 15 minutes! That has to be some kind of record. Did he just put one copy up for sale?!
