I liked it, but yeah... it is certainly a "quiet" movie different from anything else, except maybe a silent movie. :p

The one thing I did think was rather perplexing...

Why in the hell would you even want to get pregnant again, knowing that there was probably no doctor, midwife or hospital anywhere around? I mean she did get pregnant long after the little boy died, right? AND the glowing fact that a baby being born is certainly going to cry and make noise constantly... even if you jail the baby in a box in the cellar, with a mattress draped over the trapdoor 24/7. And you just know the kid is going to grow up to be a toddler again, and not understand that battery-operated toys are noisy! Were the parents that daft?

The first 30 minutes are the toughest to sit through, but it does get a lot better after that.

The sequel, which was set to be released March 20th, has been pulled from the release schedule and is delayed indefinitely.

This movie has been ping-ponging between April and September for a while now, but with the debut of Paramount+, it sounds like we might have a firm release date.

A Quiet Place: Part II has been moved up to May 28th from the previous date of September 17th. Theatrical release.

In addition, the movie will hit the streaming service Paramount+ within 45 days of the theatrical release, meaning it should be on the service by July 12th at the latest.

I swear, the studio system is making this more complicated than it needs to be. o_O

Has anyone else seen this yet? I saw it tonight - first movie in a theater in over a year. I really enjoyed it and thought they did a great job continuing the story in an interesting way.

I saw this on Friday. My honest opinion ...Eh. Nothing new and it seemed like the studio was just trying to cash in on the popularity of the first film.

I've heard it's as good as the first. I want to see it but probably not in cinemas.

I have Paramount+ for the new seasons of Challenge and Real World anyway. Supposedly it's coming there fairly quickly, so I'll just wait.

I just got back from Part II. As I said with the first movie... it's okay. Nothing special. There are parts I like (especially the dock scene) but too much already feels too familiar. 6/10.

I wish I knew how the spoiler blocking thing worked here, but I can't so I'll just say I think the conclusion is lazy AF.

The ending was pretty abrupt. I felt like there should have been another scene to wrap things up better. But I guess it's left wide open for part 3. There's definitely stuff I could pick at about the plot but I had a good time. Probably part of that was just being back in the theater after so long. One of my biggest nitpicks was that the kids were obviously so much older even though the movie is meant to pick up right where the first one ends. And the opening flashback scene just looked ridiculous as far as the kids' ages since they should have been even younger. Not much they could do without recasting and both actors are really good so I tried to overlook it.

I agree that the acting is good, but the conclusion reeks of laziness in that:

It's only set up that way to ensure another entry. It feels as though they're going The Avengers: Infinity War route by not having an ending because you know people will show up for another entry. HOWEVER, this isn't Marvel. This is horror, and one of the best things (for me) about horror sequels is seeing how villains (or monsters) come back after a seemingly definitive conclusion of the previous entry. Maybe I'm dragging this out, but some sort of ending would have been better than no ending at all.

    I liked it

Definitely glad I caught in the theater. Cool creature feature with some awesome sound fx thumping throughout.

I loved the beginning sequence at the little league field.

What was the point of this movie, except for setting up part 3??

This was a waste of time. Felt like nothing of worth was accomplished.

All of these post-apocalyptic virus/zombie/alien movies/tv shows are all the same now.

Survivors trying to get to a destination, accidentally meeting crazy people along the way, that want them dead, getting to goal, everything goes to shit, and back to square one.

Guess they gonna milk this franchise now...
And how about a spin-off show?

That, and the attack on the docks, was the only thing that was exciting in the movie.

While I enjoyed it I also agree with you. When it ended I was like "oh, ok". It didn't feel finished.
The beginning was definitely the best part.

I spent most of the movie waiting for a reunion that never happened.

The opening scene was great, but after that it got pretty ho hum.

Yeah, Emily Blunt's character felt a bit cast to the side. We didn't get the reunion at the end which made the whole thing feel off as that was the main plot of the film.
