First trailer. Looks good.
I will give Verbinski this much. He is one of the most visual directors I've ever watched. Strange trailer. Wonder what it's supposed to be about. Body farming?
I'm glad the trailer is ambiguous. I'm going to try to avoid plot points before seeing the film. My only disappointment is that Hans Zimmer didn't score the film. They work well together.
The more I hear about this film, the more I want to see it.
Here is a new clip. WARNING - May contain spoilers.
Looks very intriguing and visually stunning. Definitely want to see this!
The latest trailer shows an institution on top of a mountain. No one can hear the patients scream...LOL. It does look stunning,
Really want to see this one, but it's 2 hours 26 minutes! Will probably end up waiting for video.
It looks too good for me to pass, but I know what you mean. Somewhere in the middle of the film, I will end up leaving briefly for the restroom.
Anyone checking this out over the weekend? Overdue for a theater visit, been about a month....... I believe this looks theater worthy.
I also want to see Fist Fight. Looks like it could be the stupidest of awesome, bat shit crazy comedies. It'll be a toss up between this and a Cure.
HOLY SHIT!!! I want to see THAT! (But, I never pay to see films in the theater because audiences are not respectful and too loud and too many cellphones, etc.) So, I will wait for video but I'll blind-buy if it's less than $20. On DVD.
Short of the awful cover song, that was a marvelous trailer. First I've seen in some time.
I guess this bombed at the box office. It barely pull in two million which was lower than The Bye Bye Man. I will buy it when it's released. It's a long film and I agree with DVD Fanatic 9 - audiences are assholes, especially when it's a long film.
Missed this one in theaters, but I just picked up the blu-ray. Only $17.99 on release day! Excited to finally see it, but probably won't get to it until the weekend.
Yep got the DVD today for 14.96 at Walmart will watch it saturday
Saw this a few nights ago. Beautifully shot. The film looks really great. I think there was a bit too much of those wtf moments with very little being answered till the end of the film. For a movie that runs 2.5 hours I feel like an unfolding mystery would have been a little more rewarding. I was definitely curious the whole way through though, I just don't know if it will lend itself well to re-watches. I recommend checking it out if you haven't seen it yet.
I got the Blu-ray from Amazon yesterday, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. It's kind of surprising that a movie like this getting a theatrical release these days would be that long at almost 2.5 hours. I'm definitely going to view it before this weekend though...it really has me intrigued.
Have you been to the theatre in the last few years? Pretty much every movie coming out theatrically (or at least that Hollywood attaches "blockbuster" or "tent-pole" to) seems to be pushing the 2+ hour mark...
As far as "blockbusters" go, yes you're right. But this movie just doesn't seem like the type of movie that a studio would gamble a theatrical release with a 2 and a half hour running time.
Indulgent running times seem to be a trend (that needs to go) of the studios these days regardless. It's amazing the film even got a theatrical release (although it definitely flopped at the box office, no surprise there - I still haven't seen it myself) at all considering it's not a reboot, remake, spinoff, or franchise opportunity that seems to dominate the entire studio output these days.
