88 Films to Launch 88 Italian Line

I shouldn't have phrased it that way. The slips were a major selling point IN ADDITION to the promise of new 2K scans. The movies aren't among my favorite Italo-trash titles but I want to have the best possible versions for my collection and slipcovers are a big part of the fun for me.

 

The Axe is iconic for the euro VHS releases of the movie.
And, it's also the axe, that is used in the epic decapitation at the end of the movie

 

They have arrived!! Many thanks to 88 Films for their super work and everyone else that made this happen!

When did they arrive? Seeing this made me ask 'wheres mine'!!! Just checked my email and got a message saying there on the way.

 

Today. They started to send them out on friday

 

I received email confirmation that mine shipped but haven't received them yet.

 

I notice anthropophagus has not been included in the pack, did they give any indication as to when this would be shipped?

 

They said there were some delays with Anthro presumably at the Italian end not 88Films's end.

 

Just watched the blu ray of Absurd, enjoyable cheese! With regards to the print, don't think there can be many complaints, not sure if it was filmed with different film stock but some scenes are more grainy than others, it has a sharp image nice colours and clarity, there is some debris but its minimal, can't imagine this will look any better and I think fans of the movie will be very pleased.

 

Great news. I saw the Midnight Video VHS (or DVD maybe?) back a while and really enjoyed the film, can't wait to revisit it properly.

They arrived last night (I'm in Southern California). Will try to get in a viewing of ABSURD tonight - Though it may be tough to sell seeing as I threw on Night Has a Thousand Desires last night with my wife in the room and didn't realize how sexually explicit it was. I may not have a lot of good will to trade on with our viewing tonight.

 

lol that's too funny....... had a similar experience over the weekend. Wife was taking a nap on the couch while I watched The Neon Demon. She woke up during the necrophilia scene "...the fuck you watching?" Needless to say I was watching Bravo the rest of the evening.

 

Yes sir. You know of what I speak. She looked up during a non-X rated but very explicit Foursome scene and I thought "well, I guess it's going to be an indie comedy tomorrow"

 

That is why we have multiple TV's in the house. If the wife doesn't want to watch something with me or vice versa there are other options. I'm happy to say that my 88 bundle also arrived yesterday and like Angelman I'm in SoCal.

 

I still haven't gotten mine yet, which worries me a bit since I'm thousands of mile closer than you guys. I moved since the campaign ended, but I emailed one of the 88 guys and they said they'd update the address, but who knows. Might email them to double check, it'd probably do more than bitching about it on a forum.

 

88 Films also sent me an email letting me know that the package had shipped. It also had tracking information.

 

I'm in NY and still nothing but it may still be too early. The folks in California who have gotten theirs already is probably due to a fluke - they lucked out somehow. I'm more worried about the spine slashes that a lot of people are finding on the slips.
